Here are the advantages of swimming for school children of all ages:

1) Swimming promotes good health, and also enhances stamina and endurance which can really help for the future.

2) One of the best long term benefits of swimming is that it improves the cardiovascular system and makes the body use oxygen more efficiently. For this purpose alone, one should start swimming from an early age.

3) Swimming also has social benefits as children swimming competitively or participating in swim clubs learn the importance of perseverance, sportsmanship, self-discipline and goal-setting. They develop really good relations and friendship with teammates and learn the importance of teamwork.

4) Researchers have documented that the stimulating effect of child-paced infant/toddler swimming lessons has the potential to increase intelligence, concentration, alertness, and perceptual abilities; as well as an improvement in social, emotional, and physical development.

5) Swimming is also effective in reducing anxiety, according to the International Journal of Sport Psychology, which states that water is a very soothing environment and the gentle nature of the water helps kids keep calm.

These are just a few of the benefits of swimming for children.  We suggest you start swimming lessons for your kids when they are in school itself, too reap these amazing benefits it has to offer.
